Sixty-six days, without the campaign

66 Days is gated behind a completed playthrough. This Cycle 10 save already has that gate open, so the mode is available from the title screen the moment the file is in place.

What is in this file

  • The publisher lists 66 Days mode as already open, so it appears as a New Game option instead of staying locked behind a completed campaign.
  • Weapons are listed at +7 soul-tempering, past the normal first-cycle cap.
  • The file holds 10 slots of an account that has finished Cycle 10.
  • Memory Flowers, skills and lore entries are listed as collected.

To check the download arrived intact, run certutil -hashfile PBZSaveGame.sav SHA256 in the folder you downloaded to and compare the result against the string above. A truncated download is the commonest cause of a save the game calls damaged.

How to install it

  1. Close Phantom Blade Zero completely. A running game overwrites the file on exit.
  2. Back up your whole save folder, the 17-digit SteamID folder and not only the .sav, somewhere outside the game directory.
  3. Drop the download in as PBZSaveGame.sav, replacing the existing file. The path is in the save location guide.
  4. Start the game and load the slot at the Bell. If nothing appears, work through the fixes page before deciding the file is bad.

Where the flag lives

The option is not a launcher setting or a config flag, it lives in the save. Loading a save from an account that has already finished the story is what makes 66 Days appear as a choice when you begin a new game. Copy this file in, start the game, and the option is there; you can then begin a fresh run of your own rather than continuing the file's own slots.

Why it is a Cycle 10 file

Ten cycles is what the publisher's account had reached, not a requirement. The relevant fact is that the campaign is finished. What a Cycle 1 file cannot give you is that option, plus the higher weapon grades that come with a long-played account.

If the option still does not appear

Check that the file actually replaced the one the game reads, the wrong SteamID folder is the usual cause, and the fixes page walks through it. Cloud sync can also restore the old file behind your back; the transfer guide covers the ordering that makes your copy win.

What is 66 Days mode in Phantom Blade Zero?

It is the mode that puts a real countdown on the campaign. Instead of an untimed playthrough you get a fixed running clock, and everything you choose to do, travel, side tales, resting, spends from it. It is normally only offered after finishing the main story once.

Can I turn 66 Days on without loading someone else’s save?

Only by finishing the campaign yourself first. The flag lives in the save, so any save that already has it set will offer the mode at New Game. That is exactly what this file is for.

Does loading a Cycle 10 save spoil the story?

The save contains world and quest state from a finished account. If you care about the story, start a fresh run and use this file only to make the 66 Days option appear, you do not have to continue from its slots.

Will 66 Days mode wipe my save if the clock runs out?

Assume it is unforgiving and keep an independent backup of the folder before you start. That is true of any permadeath-style run, regardless of where the save came from.
